Catch-up crawl with a kickboard is a fundamental drill you can include as soon as you’re able to breathe to the side and lie flat on the surface while kicking with your crawl legs. The advantage of using a kickboard is that it supports you while breathing – it’s important to learn how to breathe without letting the arm you’re about to stroke with drop down. Don’t be afraid to add the catch-up crawl with a kickboard early on and include it in every training session – start with just a few meters and gradually work up to several pool lengths.
It’s ready for each level and comes with illustrations to print.
I recommend printing it in color (images may be lost in black & white), placing it in a clear folder or plastic sleeve – and taking it straight to the pool.
