Swimmers sometimes ask me whether the foot should come out of the water while kicking. Ideally, no—it can peek out with the heel, but definitely not the calf or ankle. When flutter kicking, the total range of motion is about 40 centimeters, and we try to keep the feet just beneath the surface. Be careful not to kick downhill or hit the bottom. When kicking at the surface, natural whirlpools form and create a little swirl visible above the legs, and that’s perfectly correct.

It’s ready for each level and comes with illustrations to print.
I recommend printing it in color (images may be lost in black & white), placing it in a clear folder or plastic sleeve – and taking it straight to the pool.
